The PRAGMATOM Project

Promoting healthy aging by enhancing social interactions: intervention on the pragmatics of communication and theory of mind (PragmaToM)

AIMS, METHODS AND EXPECTED RESULTS

The main objective of the project is to develop an on-line and in-person intervention program to promote active aging.

The intervention will integrate aspects of social interaction (theory of mind) and communication (pragmatics) to enhance the overall functioning and well-beingof the elderly, with attention to the identification of moderating factors. The project will involve more than 150 older adults and will offer an experimental intervention to promote language skills and social cognition. The project will also includelaboratory and ecological evaluationsto assess the effectiveness of the intervention. Ecological Momentary Assessment will allow for real-time monitoring of changes in social interactions, well-being, and social cognitive abilities.

At the end of the project, an integrated platform for the use of the intervention will be created and made available to professionals and all interested parties.
